Mysuru: POCSO Special Court awarded 43 year RI for rape accused

Mysuru: The City’s Special POCSO Court has awarded 43 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 50,000 to the accused who raped a girl.

Special Court Judge Shaima Kamaroj delivered the verdict. The judgement also ordered to give compensation of Rs. 7 lakh to the victim girl. Special Public Prosecutor K. B. Jayanthi argued on behalf of the victim.

The incident occurred in the ffarmhouseowned by Sandalwood Star Darshan on the outskirts of the City in T. Narasipura Road in 2021.

The accused a migrant labour from Bihar had continuously raped a 10-year-old girl. A case was registered at the Mysuru Rural Women’s Station.

Inspector K. Jeevan was the investigation officer and he had submitted a chargesheet to the Court.
