Farmer’s suicide linked to social boycott in Chamarajanagara

Chamarajanagara: A tragedy unfolded in Yadavanahalli village, located in Chamarajanagara’s Gundlupet taluk, when a 45-year-old farmer named YS Yatiraju took his own life, allegedly in response to being socially boycotted by members of his community. The victim’s brother, Mahesh, filed a complaint with the Begur police station, attributing Shivaraju’s suicide to the social boycott he had faced.

In response, the Begur police initiated an investigation into the matter and subsequently filed a First Information Report (FIR) against 13 individuals, including Krishna, Chandu, Revanayak, Santhosh, Sandesh, Venkataramana Nayak, Ninga Nayak, Chikkabella Nayak, Alattur Mahadeva Nayak, D. Mahadevama Nayak, Devanayak, Chinnaswamy Nayak, and Rangaswamy Nayak, all of whom were named in connection with the case.
