Min Somashekar presents accounts of Dasara expenditure

Mysuru: District In-Charge Minister S. T. Somashekar said that he was confident that the party candidates will win in both Sindagi and Hanagal constituencies.

Speaking to media persons here on Monday November 1, he said that the bypoll results are not a compass for next election as the bypolls were held at the local level.

Presenting the accounts of Dasara expenditure, he said that the State Government has released Rs. 6 crores for celebration of Dasara. The Dasara committee spent Rs. 4,22,07, 679 for Jamboo Savari, elephants’ maintenance, expenditure on decoration, various sub committees, royalty of Rs. 40 lakh to Royal family. Apart from this the Government also has spent Rs. 1.20 Crore for Dasara celebration in Srirangapattana, Chamarajanagara and Hassan districts. A total of Rs. 5,42,07,679 has been spent for celebration of Dasara in four districts, he informed.

He said that the State Government has been thinking of organising Dasara exhibition throughout the year from next year to boost tourism. He added that the Tourism Minister will also visit Mysuru to take a decision in
this regard.

Reacting to the allegations of Former Minister Cheluvanarayana Swamy that 1000 crore irregularity has taken place in Mandya Milk Producers’ Co-operative Society Limited (MYMUL) he said that it was not a big issue.

It was alleged that corrupt officers and transport contractors mixed water in to milk. The State CM immediately handed over the probe to COD. The State Co-operative Department is being inquired too. The Government would take suitable action after verifying two reports, he said.
