Mysuru: The Forest Department officials caught a leopard that has been attacking farmers’ pets for the last three months on Tuesday December 13. The villagers who were tired of this leopard subterfuge can now heave a sigh of relief.
The leopard, which was often seen in the fields of Badanakuppe Village of the HD Kote Taluk, used to eat cattle and run away. The villagers who had lost their cattle had pleaded with the Forest Department to capture the leopard. The Forest Department had placed the cage at the insistence of the villagers. Thus when the leopard came in search of food was caught in the cage. The villagers saw the leopard lying in the cage and informed the Forest Officials.
The captured leopard was released into the Nagarahole National Park.
