Mysuru: District In-charge Minister S. T. Somashekar on Tuesday January 4 at a simple function handed over Vijayanagara 3rd Stage to Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) from Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).
Speaking at the function , MLA G. T. Devegowda said, “There was some confusion because of which proper developmental works could not be taken up at Vijayanagar. Now Minister Somashekar has cleared the confusion. He said that we were able to fix LED bulbs at a cost of Rs. 109 Crore. Many more developmental works too have been taken up, he added.
The MLA said, “Vijayanagar 3rd Stage is getting Kabini River water now. Unduwadi project is also getting completed. Once it is over, there won’t be drinking water problem for the next 50 years.”
He said, “Rs. 377 Crore has been sanctioned to take up developmental works in areas coming under MUDA. The tender has been invited and works will start shortly.”
MUDA Chairman H. V. Rajeev, Mysuru Mayor Sunanda Palanetra, MCC Commissioner G. Lakshmikantha Reddy, Additional Commissioner N. M. Shashikumar, MUDA Commissioner Dr. D. B. Natesh, Superintendent Engineer Shankar and others were present.
