Mysuru: After launching Hoysala pink patrol vehicles for women’s safety, there are plans to provide “pink toilets” for women in the state.
The toilets will be similar to those in national capital Delhi and will have sanitary napkin vending machines and exclusive areas for women to feed their babies.
The Women and Child Welfare department at the centre has directed its state counterpart on the implementation of the scheme at the earliest.
Negotiations are on with local officials and a final decision will be taken once the government gives nod, said Kripa Alva, Chairperson of State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KSCPCR), reacting on the issue.
Sanitary napkins will be the only freebies in these hi-tech rosy toilets meant for women.
