Congress candidate for the Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha seat, R Padmaraj, has kickstarted his campaign with a pledge to emulate the esteemed Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary. Padmaraj, who announced his candidacy on Thursday night, wasted no time in expressing gratitude to the party leadership for their support.
On Friday, Padmaraj outlined his commitment to tirelessly work towards fostering harmony and promoting comprehensive development in the district. He expressed his intention to follow the principles laid out by his political mentor, Poojary, while also vowing to prioritize the overall progress of the constituency.
Upon returning from Bengaluru, Padmaraj commenced his campaign by garlanding the statues of prominent figures in Mangaluru, including U S Mallya, Mahatma Gandhi, Kedambadi Ramayya Gowda, and Rabindranath Tagore. Additionally, he paid his respects at the city’s war memorial in Kadri, honoring the sacrifices made by martyrs.
