Two-wheeler caught fire, one dead, two seriously injured

Humanabad:  A terrible road accident took place on the Manikanagar-Kanakatta village road of the taluk on Thursday. One young person died on the spot, and two others were seriously injured.

Rohit Manik (23) of Islampur village of Basavakalyan taluk died on the spot. Two others who were with him, Shivakumar and Srikanth, were seriously injured and their condition is critical. They were given first aid at the government hospital in the town and were shifted to Kalaburgi Hospital for further treatment.

Officials of the traffic police station are investigating the terrible accident, as to how did the accident happen and how the two-wheeler caught fire. Apparently, an unknown vehicle was driving at high speed and collided with the two-wheeler. The body of the young man who died in the accident must also have been separated. Police officials are speculating that the vehicle also caught fire and the bike must have been burnt.

The full details of the incident will come out after a further investigation by police officials. A case has been registered at the traffic police station.
