Kundapur: A suspected burglary attempt was thwarted early Sunday morning in Koteshwar, near National Highway 66, when two masked intruders tried to force entry into a residence armed with dangerous weapons.

The target was a home named Maxima Villa, where the assailants attempted to break open the main door by damaging the door mesh. Before that, they disabled a CCTV camera installed at the entrance, likely in an attempt to conceal their identity and movements.

However, their plan was disrupted when the female homeowner was startled awake by the noise. Upon hearing her screams and spotting her making a phone call, the two intruders immediately fled the scene, abandoning their break-in attempt.

Kundapur police later arrived at the location and conducted a thorough inspection. Fortunately, despite efforts to damage the surveillance system, a portion of the incident was still captured by the CCTV footage, which is now being reviewed for further investigation.

Residents in the area are on high alert following the attempt, and local authorities are urging citizens to enhance home security and report any suspicious activity immediately.
