Udupi: Responding to growing public complaints over delays in processing e-account applications, MLA Yash Pal Suvarna has directed revenue officials to immediately clear the backlog and streamline services at the Udupi Municipality.
Chairing a meeting at the Udupi Municipality hall, the MLA emphasized that applications pending for months must be resolved without further delay, and that e-accounts should be issued promptly. To bring consistency and accountability, he instructed that every Tuesday be earmarked for the distribution of e-accounts, starting September 2025.
In a crucial discussion with the Municipal Commissioner, District Registrar, and Deputy Registrar, MLA Suvarna addressed the technical bottlenecks stemming from the integration issues between e-Aasti and Cauvery software. These problems, he noted, are directly impacting the public—especially in the areas of:
-
Site measurements
Building account registration
Private institution property records
Deletion of survey numbers post-registration
He has directed the Deputy Registrar of Udupi to escalate these integration concerns to the Cauvery software administrators, ensuring a swift resolution to avoid further public inconvenience.
The meeting was attended by Municipal Council Chairman Prabhakar Poojary, Municipal Commissioner Mahantesh Hangargi, council members Harish Shetty, Giridhar Acharya Karamballi, along with other senior officials from the Revenue Department.
The move signals a firm push toward digitized efficiency and citizen-friendly governance in Udupi’s property and revenue services.
