Udupi: Udupi City Municipal Commissioner Mahantesh Hangaragi announced that the E-office system will be introduced within a week and become fully functional in 15 days. Speaking at the general body meeting, he emphasized that this digital platform will track file progress, highlighting delays and responsible officials. “Every file received will be processed through the E-office, allowing me to monitor it efficiently,” he said.

During the session, councillors voiced key concerns.
Councillor Amrutha Krishna Moorthi raised the issue of unconstructed roads in Kinnimulki, where 10 homes lack proper access for over 15 years. She urged the municipality to fulfill promises made during the National Highway project.

Ramesh Kanchan highlighted problems in the Udupi fish market, stating that women fish vendors lack working lights and fans, forcing them to use mobile torches. He also complained about neglected dustbins, some of which are not cleared for weeks, while one was even stolen.

Councillor Vijay Kodavoor expressed alarm over pollution in wells and rivers due to untreated wastewater from salons and medical facilities. He claimed over 520 wells are contaminated with ammonium. MLA Yashpal Suvarna insisted on strict action against violators, including cutting electricity supply for major offenders.

Kanchan also pointed to sewage from the KSRTC bus stop flowing through open drains and demanded proper drainage links. Concerns over traffic congestion, auto stand misuse, and administrative negligence were also discussed.
