Bengaluru: On Sunday November 14, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) screened around 700 people for Diabetes and Hypertension. The screenings were conducted as part of World Diabetes Day, which saw free screening camps being held around Bengaluru East and South sides.
In Bengaluru South, camps were set up in Lalbagh, Siddapura, and Vasanthnagar. Four camps were set up in Cubbon Park in Bengaluru East.
According to the sources, the camps have screened a total of 722 people for Diabetes and Hypertension, with 465 people screened in Bengaluru South and 257 people screened in Bengaluru East.
As per the reports, a total of 161 people have been found to have Diabetes with 90 cases being identified for the first time. There was a total of 135 cases of Hypertension found with 27 patients being newly diagnosed.
