Mandya: To control the danger of the second wave of Covid, public access to tourist places and protected sites under the Archaeological Department has been restricted till May 15 or till further orders as per the instructions of the department in the district here. The move has been put in place to prevent crowd gathering at temples or tourist places and thus curb the spread of the second wave.
Deputy Commissioner N Manjushree has requested the public to cooperate by not venturing into these tourist spots frequently. As much as possible stay at home, she added.
Some of the tourist attractions in the district that has been restricted entry are Sri Chaluvanarayanaswamy temple at Melkote, Sri Ranganatha Swamy temple at Srirangapattana, Sri Sowmyakeshava Swamy temple, Nagamangala apart from places such as Daulat Bagh, Gumbaz, Jumma Masjid, Obelisk War Memorial, Kantirava Narasimha Statue, Nambi Narayana Temple Tannur, Mallikarjuna temple, Basaralu, Lakshminarayana temple, Hosaholalu, Panchalingeshwara temple, Govindanahalli, and Lakshminarayana temple, Sindagatta.
