Bantwal – Torrential rains coupled with strong winds wreaked havoc across several villages in Bantwal taluk, causing damage to multiple homes.
In Pilatabettu, a large tree toppled onto the residence of Kavita Padmanabha, severely damaging the structure. Similarly, in Devasya Paduru village, the rear wall of a house owned by Yamuna Rukmaya Poojary in Noorthadi caved in due to the heavy downpour.
More damage was reported from Kavala Paduru, where a tree fell on the home of Padmavathi Aithappa, a resident of Keddalike. In Panjikallu village’s Noojantodi area, Dakkayya Poojary’s house also sustained damage after being struck by a falling tree.
Residents from the affected villages have appealed to the local administration to take swift action by initiating relief measures and providing assistance for repairs. With more rains expected, locals are worried about further damage and have urged authorities to remain vigilant.
