Kankanady Town police have arrested a 31-year-old man, Sunil, for allegedly robbing a medical shop employee in Naguri. The incident occurred on December 28, when Sunil reportedly threatened the employee with a knife, assaulted her, and stole ₹19,300 from the shop’s cash drawer.

Following a swift investigation, the police apprehended the accused and recovered ₹17,500 in cash, along with a scooter and other items used in the robbery, amounting to a total recovery value of ₹1,20,000.

The arrest was conducted under the leadership of Mangaluru police commissioner Anupam Agarwal and senior officers Siddharth Goel IPS, Ravi Shankar KSPS, and Dhanya Nayak KSPS. The operation was led by Inspector T D Nagaraj of the Kankanady Town police, with assistance from PSI Vinayak Bhavikatti, Shivakumar, and other police staff.

The accused, a resident of Patrokodi, Bondel, will be presented before the court.
