An 18-year-old man from Karnataka has come forward with a harrowing tale of being kidnapped and assaulted by a group of nine individuals, reportedly including family members of his Hindu classmate. The incident occurred in Yadgir district of Karnataka.
The victim, identified as Waheed, stated in his police complaint that he and his Hindu female classmate maintained regular contact, which allegedly angered her relatives. On Tuesday, Waheed was purportedly abducted near their college premises and subjected to physical violence.
According to Waheed’s account, he was targeted for his friendship with the woman. In response to his complaint, the police have taken action and registered a case against nine individuals, including three relatives of the woman. The accused have been identified as Mallu, Tayappa, Shivunayk, Roopesh, Ambaresh, Hharshagouda, Pavan Kumar, Jambu Solanki, and Bapu Solanki, all residents of Yadgir.
Inspector Manje Gauda confirmed the registration of the case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including those related to rioting, attempt to murder, kidnapping, criminal intimidation, and other offenses. The investigation into the matter is ongoing as authorities seek to bring justice to the victim and hold the perpetrators accountable.
