With Covid – 19 casualties increasing with each passing day, there is also an increase in the number of children losing their parents to the virus. Meanwhile, Adichunchanagiri Matha has offered to provide free education to all kids orphaned due to Covid – 19. In addition, they have volunteered to reach out to help the needy.
Speaking to News Karnataka Prasannanath Swamiji, General Secretary of Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthan said, expressing concern over the havoc caused by the second wave of COVID-19, Adichunchanagiri Matha Seer Sri Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji has announced that Adichunchanagiri educational institutions will take in Covid orphans from 1 to 10th standard and provide free food, residence and education until 12th standard in both Kannada and English medium. Swamiji has announced this and we are currently receiving many calls and WhatsApp messages in this regard. Once the lockdown will be lifted and as soon as schools will be reopened we will join those kids in our institution,” he added.
Explaining further the Nobel initiatives by Adichunchanagiri Matha, he said, “COVID Care Centre is set up at Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences. In collaboration with the district administration, we have converted marriage halls, and hostels too into Covid care centres. Also Swamiji announced free food will be provided to the patients in the Covid care centre. Also, we have been distributing foods to needy people through various branches of Matha in Chikkaballapura, Shivamogga etc.,” he added.
