Udupi: A sorrowful mishap unfolded at Padukere beach, Udupi, when a traditional fishing vessel (Naad Doni) capsized amid strong sea currents, leading to the death of a local fisherman.
The victim has been identified as Neelu (48), a resident of Pithrodi.
Neelu was thrown overboard when the boat overturned due to turbulent waves. Tragically, he became trapped in fishing nets and equipment, leaving him unable to surface or free himself in time.
His lifeless body was recovered and has been transported to the district government hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the precise cause of death.
The Malpe police station has officially registered a case, and further investigation is underway.
