Udupi – In a bid to boost physical well-being and mental resilience, 71 police personnel from across Udupi district have enrolled in a 30-day revitalization camp at the Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Yoga and Naturopathy Center in Parika.
The camp, specially designed for overweight and obese officers, includes 62 male and 9 female participants. Among them are 1 Sub-Inspector (SI), 12 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (AASIs), 35 Head Constables, and 23 Police Constables. Each day begins at 6:30 am and concludes by 6:30 pm, structured into six comprehensive sessions.
Participants undergo yoga, Zumba, gym workouts, physical drills, and karate under the guidance of trained professionals. In addition to fitness routines, expert talks are held on managing stress, achieving work-life balance, and building mental strength—key tools for the demanding lives of law enforcement officers.
The program also features nature walks, specially curated diet plans, and a holistic approach to health. The goal is not only weight management but also improved morale, energy, and mental clarity among the force.
Importantly, the entire initiative is offered free of cost, reflecting the department’s commitment to officer well-being.
This move marks a proactive step by the Udupi police in prioritizing health, discipline, and stress-free living, aligning physical fitness with professional effectiveness.
