Lahore: In a heartbreaking incident, a 12-year-old boy in Raiwind city allegedly took his own life after his mother refused to buy him a mobile phone, as reported by ARY News citing police officials.
The boy, identified as Ayyan, had pleaded with his mother for a phone, but she declined and left for a neighbour’s house. Upon her return, she found her son’s lifeless body hanging from the ceiling. It appeared that the boy had used a rope tied to a bamboo pole on the wall to end his life.
Meanwhile, Lahore police have initiated an investigation into the tragic incident, gathering evidence from the scene to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death.
This heartbreaking incident follows another recent suicide case in Mughalpura, Lahore, involving a 33-year-old female doctor named Bushra Suhail. Reportedly, Bushra took her own life following a heated argument with her mother on March 27.
According to her sister Rabia, Bushra locked herself in her room after the argument, and later, she was found hanging from a ceiling fan. The incidents have left the community shocked and saddened.
