Mangaluru: The National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) Surathkal proudly announces its participation in the “Ek Tareek, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” initiative today. This initiative is a key component of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign, a nationwide cleanliness drive initiated by the Government of India.
This mega cleanliness drive is part of the Swachhata Pakhwada- Swachhata Hi Seva 2023, being observed from 15 Sept to 30 Oct. Citizens are engaging in various cleanliness activities nationwide.
Esteemed participants in today’s event included NITK Director Prof. B Ravi, Mangaluru City Corporation Corporator Shobha Rajesh, NITK Registrar, Joint Registrar, Dean ACR teaching and non-teaching staff along with NITK students carried out Shramdaan for Swachhata today from 10 am onwards.
The collective undertook a comprehensive cleanliness drive across the NITK campus premises and the surrounding areas within Surathkal city. This concerted effort resulted in significant environmental enhancement and served to instil a heightened sense of civic responsibility among all participants.
A highlight of the event was the Swachhata pledge taken by the NITK community. This pledge signifies their commitment to maintaining cleanliness and promoting sustainable practices within their campus and beyond.
NITK’s involvement in the “Ek Tareek, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” initiative emphasizes our firm commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability. The institute is steadfast in its belief that leading by example can inspire others to undertake similar actions within their own communities.
