Pre Unique 2023 has a vibrant conclusion at SAPUC

Mangaluru: The second and final day of Pre-Unique at St Aloysius Pre-University College, concluded with a glittering valedictory ceremony. The program commenced with the college choir leading everyone in prayer to invoke God’s presence. The guest of honor for the valedictory ceremony was  Siddharth Shetty, an architect, dancer, choreographer, and an emerging star in the Tulu industry. The student convener, Evana D’Souza, welcomed all those gathered and introduced the chief guest.

In his address, Siddharth recalled and expressed that it was the constant support and guidance of his teachers and his alma mater that had led him to success. He reminisced about the exposure he received during his time at this college. He congratulated the students for their participation and success in this event, expressing his hope that it would serve as a platform for their future endeavors.

In his presidential address, Principal Rev. Fr Clifford Sequeira, SJ, mentioned that Pre-Unique began in 1999 and was approaching its 25th year. Over the years, it had gained popularity due to its novelty, providing a valuable platform for young participants. He emphasized that it wasn’t just the end result that mattered but also the participation and the effort put in, which offered a significant learning experience. According to Fr Clifford, the college’s motto, ‘Lucet et Ardet’ – ‘Shine to Enkindle,’ was exemplified by the organizing students and the participants, who demonstrated their creativity. He wished the students the very best and encouraged them to become wonderful human beings.

Campus Minister Rev. Fr Anthony Derrick SJ, Vice Principals – Muralikrishna G. M and Vilma Fernandes, Deans – Dr Pradeep M and Kiran Shetty, Staff Convenors – Amitha Shetty and Bhavyashree, and Student Convenors Evana D’Souza and Shainel D’Souza were also present on the dais.

The highlight of the concluding program was the lively socials conducted on the sidelines of the valedictory program. A vibrant and energetic ramp walk by Aloysian students and lecturers, an electrifying performance by the band Infinite Frequencies, a graceful performance by popular dancers and alumni, Nicky Pinto and Sumith Salian, and a special performance by SAPUC teachers and the Chief Guest, Siddharth Shetty, lit up the audience.

The vote of thanks was delivered by the staff convener of Pre-Unique 2023, Amitha Shetty. She expressed her gratitude to all those who contributed to this mega event and also thanked the Title Sponsors- UTC Petro-chemicals, Mangalore, Diamond Sponsors: Custiv, Gold Sponsors: Ather Space Mangalore- Electric Scooter experience center. Bizlearn International.

Sharada High School won the Runners-Up in the High School category, and St Theresa High School won the overall championship. St Agnes College won the Runners-Up in the PUC category, and Mount Carmel Central School won the overall championship. The program was compered by Dianne from II PU.
