St Agnes College hosts CHADURANGA 2023 intercollegiate fest

Mangaluru: The national intercollegiate fest “CHADURANGA 2023” organized at St Agnes College (Autonomous), saw the light of day on 03 April 2023. The fest commenced at 9.15 am. The Chief Guests, Swaraj Shetty, actor, of Kantara fame and Vilas Nayak, Asia’s fastest speed painter who represented India in America’s Got Talent, were accompanied by Sr Dr Venissa A.C. – the Principal, Sr Dr Lydia – A.C the Joint Secretary, Sr Carmel Rita A.C. – the Administrator, Sr Clara A.C. – the Vice-Principal, Dr Zubaida H – the Staff Coordinator, Adeline Renjal – Student President (UG) and Mahima Anna Varghese – Student President (PG) along with the student council and all the staff coordinators were welcomed by the college band.

The inaugural ceremony began with a special performance by the Sreedevi Chendai Group and College Chendai Group. The theme of the event was introduced by the college dance group followed by the college choir which invoked God’s blessings through a prayer song. Student presidents Adeline Renjal and Mahima Anna Varghese and the welcome dance troupe gave the audience an overview of the events using the theme of the Agno Fest-CHADURANGA 2023.

Dr Zubaida H, the staff coordinator welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guests Swaraj Shetty and Vilas Nayak were welcomed with flower pots, and were introduced. The fest was inaugurated by the chief guests and the dignitaries through the symbolic flowering of the local pingara pushpa and the grand unveiling of the trophies of Chaduranga 2023 justified the theme. Swaraj Shetty said that success comes with a lot of responsibilities and one needs to prepare to meet higher challenges as the expectations of the world keep evolving.

Vilas Nayak did two-speed paintings in record time and combined them with valuable messages of peace and harmony.  Raveena Mascarenhas delivered the vote of thanks at the inaugural ceremony. The inaugural ended with the felicitation of the chief guests Vilas Nayak and Swaraj Shetty by Sr Dr Venissa AC – principal and Dr Zubaida H – staff coordinator respectively.
