Mangaluru: Technova-2023, the Final Year Project Exhibition was held at St Joseph Engineering College, SJEC, Vamanjoor, on 5 May 2023. Technova-2023, the Exposition of Projects of outgoing Josephites, is meant for encouraging the creativity and technical talents of the students through their final year projects.
A great opportunity to expose their creativity, technical knowledge, teamwork, communication skills and acumen for research and development activities, to their peer group, budding engineers, faculty and the general community. The event was held from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm and was hosted by the convener of the program, Dr Ravikantha Prabhu, who welcomed the guests to the exhibition.
The event started with a briefing about Technova-2023 by the college principal, Dr Rio D’Souza, Principal of SJEC. He provided an overview of the exhibition and highlighted the importance of final-year BE projects. He emphasized the need for students to use their knowledge and creativity to develop innovative projects that could have a positive impact on society.
Rev. Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, Director, SJEC, Rev. Fr Alwyn D’Souza, Assistant director, SJEC, Dr Purushothama Chippar, Vice Principal, SJEC and heads of five engineering departments along with the department project coordinators were present during the program. twenty experts from different Industries and Technical Institutions evaluated 139 projects carried out in five engineering disciplines and adjudged best projects of the year, second prize, third prize and innovative project prize in each discipline.
