Shivamogga: Former BJP minister and independent candidate KS Eshwarappa has expressed confidence of winning the election from the Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency.
Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, Eshwarappa said that those who were in favor of Hindutva have voted for him, and national parties have tried to divide Hindu votes on the basis of caste.
He stated that those who believe in Hindutva and desire the purification of BJP have cast their votes for him in the election. People of all castes, including Lingayats, Edigas, and other backward communities, have extended their support to him, and he claims that he will emerge victorious in the election.
Eshwarappa slammed BJP candidate BY Raghavendra and Congress candidate Geetha Shivarajkumar, alleging that they sought votes on the basis of caste.
He also mentioned that in this election, the Muslim community voted unitedly and in high numbers. This, he said, should be noted by the Hindu community, as political parties divided Hindus on the lines of caste. Despite conspiracies against him by BJP candidate BY Raghavendra, Eshwarappa said he would secure a win from the Shivamogga Lok Sabha seat.
