A 65-year-old woman from Assam, travelling to Hyderabad for medical treatment, tragically passed away due to cardiac arrest at Chennai International Airport on Monday night.
The deceased, identified as Anu Poruch, was accompanied by her daughter and son-in-law. The family had taken an Indigo flight from Assam and were awaiting a connecting flight to Hyderabad, scheduled to depart at 9:25 pm.
While resting in the terminal’s waiting area, Anu reportedly experienced intense chest pain and suddenly collapsed. Alert airport security staff swiftly transported her to a private hospital within the airport premises, where she was admitted for emergency care. Despite medical intervention, she was declared dead at around 10 pm.
Upon receiving the information, airport police arrived at the scene and registered a case. Anu’s body was sent to Chromepet Government Hospital for post-mortem examination.
The incident has cast a shadow of grief over what was intended to be a journey of hope and recovery for the family.
