Addressing a joint press conference of INDIA bloc leaders in Lucknow on Wednesday, Kharge said the INDIA bloc is in a strong position after four phases of the Lok Sabha elections. He stated that the people of the country are prepared to bid farewell to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Mark my words, BJP  will not secure 150 seats in this election,” he said.

He also stressed that the election is crucial to save the Constitution and questioned why PM Modi has not taken action against those advocating for changing it. Kharge alleged that if the BJP forms the government again, it will attempt to change the constitution.

Kharge criticized Prime Minister Modi for not taking action against party members who spoke about needing a two-thirds majority to change the constitution.

Both Kharge and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, who also addressed the media, expressed their support for the manifestos of the alliance party, stating it is in favor of the common man.

Kharge also mentioned that once the INDIA bloc forms the government, they would prepare a common minimum program and try to implement it. He highlighted the Congress party’s role in enacting the Food Security Act, which provided food to the poor, and added that if the INDIA Bloc government is formed, they will provide 10 kg of free ration per month to the poor.

SP leader Akhilesh Yadav claimed that the alliance will win 79 of the 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh.
