Patna: JDU chief and NDA leader Nitish Kumar will be taking oath as the Bihar chief minister for his fourth term in office, today November 16, at 4.30 pm.
Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the oath taking ceremony, said sources.
In Monday’s swearing-in event, apart from Nitish Kumar, his deputies-Senior BJP MLAs Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi and a few other ministers will take oath of office.
The announcement was made by BJP leader and Union minister Rajnath Singh in Patna.
DCM Sushil Modi may not continue in the post. Speculation about the same started making rounds when Modi dropped his designation from the Twitter handle.
Senior BJP MLAs Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi, who were elected as the leader and deputy leader of the BJP legislature party have been chosen as the Deputy Chief Ministers.
The BJP is most likely to also push for the position of Speaker of Bihar assembly.
In the recently held polls, the BJP bagged 74 seats and the JDU with mere 43 seats has been reduced to being a minor partner in the long standing NDA alliance. Hence it is believed that the BJP will have larger representation in the Bihar government.
Sources say that the BJP may have 60 per cent of the ministerial berths, while the JDU might have 15 per cent space in the 243-member assembly.
Smallers parties like the VIP and HAM will also be accommodated with one berth each.
