KOZHIKODE: A disturbing incident has surfaced from Narikkuni Chakkalakkal, where a family found a worm inside a sealed Horlicks container they had purchased just days earlier. The product, which is still within its expiry date (valid until 2026), was bought from a supermarket in Thamarassery on July 3.

Nidheesh, the buyer, stated that his two children experienced health issues after consuming the drink. Acting on suspicion, the family examined the product more closely and were shocked to find a worm inside.

When they contacted the supermarket, they were advised to register a formal complaint. Unwilling to let the matter slide, Nidheesh has now announced plans to approach the consumer court for justice.

The incident has raised serious concerns about food safety and product quality assurance, particularly with branded consumables. With the health of children involved, the family is seeking accountability from both the manufacturer and the retailer.
