Dharwad: Volunteers of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangha (RSS) displayed a disciplined march past organized as a part of Vijayadashami here on important thoroughfares of the city.
All along the march past the volunteers were welcomed with flower petals, the route taken by them was cleaned and important circles were decorated. 574 volunteers paraded down the streets of the town wearing khakhi pants instead of half pants this time. Framed and garlanded portraits of RSS leaders Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgevar and Madhavrao were placed on a jeep throughout the parade.
The march past started from Bharat high school and passed through Regal circle, Nehru market, Subhash road, Gandhi chowk, Shivaji road, Mangalwar pet, Kamankatti, Sheelavantar owni, Bhusappa chowk, Shriram mandir, Tikare road, Vivekananda circle and Akki pet. After which they returned to Bharat high school ground where a public meeting was held in the evening.
Few onlookers showered flower petals on the volunteers. The city police made elaborate security arrangements for the event to run smoothly.
