Gadag: “Minister Narayana Gowda may join the Congress. It’s his personal matter. However I am confident that none of the 17 MLAs would ever go back to the Congress,” said Agricultural Minister B. C. Patil.

Speaking to mediapersons, he said, “Those who want to go to Congress should go. If 2 go, 20 people are ready to join our party. There are many more people coming from Congress and JD (S). The Congress’ allegation that BJP MLA Madal Virupakshappa is being protected is false. We could have protected them from the Institution of Lokayukta. However, he did not. The Lokayukta is conducting an impartial investigation. The guilty should be punished,” he noted.

“There is no interference in the investigation. It is ridiculous to ask for the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai’s resignation. Is it possible to cut your nose if you have a cold? CM is doing a good job. Congress Party leaders have nothing else to do. That’s why they’re holding a bandh. They are giving false assurances that through guarantee schemes. But there is no guarantee that the Congress will come to power,” he said.
