Pregnant Woman Dies in Belagavi Hospital, Family Alleges Negligence

A pregnant woman, Kalpana Lamani from Savadatti, passed away at the Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences District Hospital late Tuesday during treatment.
Family members protested, alleging medical negligence and demanding accountability. They refused to allow hospital staff to move the body to the mortuary until Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan addressed their concerns.
Hospital doctors reported that Kalpana developed complications, including low blood pressure, after delivering earlier in the day, leading to her death. The exact cause will be determined through investigation.
Police were deployed to maintain order as the family demanded action against those allegedly responsible.
