Bengaluru: We often see heroes performing daredevil acts on big screen. However, Sandalwood actor Raghu Bhat turned out to be a real-life hero when he chased two thieves and helped the cops nab the robbers who allegedly robbed a cab driver.
As per the reports, accused duo Moheen Khan (26) and Abdul Fahim (19) had allegedly robbed a cab driver near Ulsoor Lake, in early hours of Friday.
The cab driver is said to have been sleeping in his car when the two approached him with knives. According to the Times of India report, the accused duo had stolen 10-gram gold chain, Rs 2,500 cash and his car key.
When Raghu Bhat and his wife were on their way back home in their car after watching a movie, they spotted the three men quarreling at the Cunningham Road. The couple slowed down to see what was happening and left the spot thinking it was an altercation. However, Raghu turned his car when his wife expressed suspicions.
Seeing Raghu return, the two took to their feet and Raghu chased them for about two kms, while his wife called the jurisdictional police and alerted them about the happenings. In the chase, the two robbers fell on the roadside and soon the police too reached the spot and nabbed them.
The accused have been remanded to judicial custody.
According to the Wilson Garden Police statement to the media, the accused duo had stabbed a cab driver on Thursday and robbed him and his car too.
Moheen is said to have 27 criminal cases against him in various police stations.
Responding to the entire episode the actor said that it was rather disheartening to see nobody react to the entire situation.
