Bengaluru: Union Minister of State for Railways Darshana Jardosh on Friday September 23 said that the that the State will have its first Vande Bharat Express high-speed train from Bengaluru to Hubballi, by March 2023.
Responding toBJP Rajya Sabha member Lahar Singh Siroya, Sanjeev Kishore, General Manager of South Western Railway said that the track doubling on this segment is underway, and the high-speed train will be ready for operations by March 2023.
According to sources, the 45 km segment between South Hubballi and Haveri will be doubled. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the year. The SWR is also targeting electrification of the line by March 2023.
