Bengaluru: The Akhila Karnataka Brahmana Mahasabha on Thursday January 5 objected to the Government’s plan to use the 10% Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quota to meet demands of the reservation for Lingayats and Vokkaligas.
Mahasabha President Ashok Harnahalli has called upon Brahmins to unite against “anti-Brahmin” Policy of the Government. He has also asked to organise peaceful protests across the State.
In the subsequent development to the reservation issue, it has been said that once the Government finalises the distribution of the 10% quota among EWS communities such as Brahmins, the remaining six percentage points will be distributed among Vokkaligas and Lingayats who are demanding for higher reservation.
