Bengaluru: Cyber thieves duped youth of Rs. 8.3 Lakh

Bengaluru: Cyber thieves have duped a youth of Rs. 8.30 Lakh in a phased manner after promising to double his money.

The victim has been identified as Rohit Basavaraj (33), a resident of Konanakunte. Recently, a stranger called Basavaraj and convinced him that he would double the money. He stated, “If you put in Rs. 1,000, you would get Rs 1,300. Accordingly, Basavaraj paid Rs 1,000. Shortly thereafter, Rs 1,300 was deposited in his account.

Basavaraj had deposited more money in his bank account on the instructions of the unknown persons.
