Bengaluru: The city police is working on plans of introducing 3D speed humps/ breakers in the city. The central transport department has given a nod to introduce such road humps on experimental basis in several places within the city limits and in few highways connecting the city.
The 3D road speed breakers are not the real structures but imagery pictures which look like real road humps. These images will give drivers the visual impression of heading to a real speed breakers, compelling them to slow down the vehicle. The concept, which is a hit in European countries, was introduced on experimental basis in Delhi and as per sources, it had yielded desired results.

r most accident prone stretches in the city first, a source said adding that if it works the initiative will be taken further to other parts of the city as well as other cities too.Such 3D speed breakers are developed with the help of developers and engineers mainly from Japan.
However, since the plan is still in embryonic stage, there are no clarity on the time frame within which this would be in place.
