Bengaluru: The trailer of Puneeth Rajkumar’s last film Gandhada Gudi (A journey of a true hero), was released on Sunday October 9. Directed by National Award winner and Wildlife Photographer J. Amoghavarsha, Gandhada Gudi, explores the flora and fauna of the State along with the late actor.
The film attempts to highlight the biodiversity, which ranges from plain lands to Coastal regions, and from destructed forests to deep forests in the Western Ghats, interspersed with songs and breath-taking visuals of nature.

Appu always cherished the interactions with you & would have loved to share with you in person,” wrote the late actor’s wife Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar on her Twitter account.

Responding to the Tweet Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote, “Appu lives in the hearts of millions around the world. He was brilliance personified, full of energy and blessed with unparalleled talent. #GandhadaGudi is a tribute to Mother Nature, Karnataka’s natural beauty and environmental conservation. My best wishes for this endeavour.”
Speaking to NewsKarnataka Amoghavarsha said, “It was a dream project and I am glad that people are liking it. The most important thing to him, if he had been here, would have been to see his fans happy. The entire team has been working extremely hard, and people will get to know him for who he truly is through the film. We are making every effort to fulfil our responsibility to share our journey with the world.”
Recalling the memorable moment with the ‘Power Star’, he said, “He was like a small child with a lot of curiosity and that is what has truly stayed with me.”
Gandhada Gudi is produced by Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar under the PRK Productions banner and the makers will release the docu-feature in multiple languages.
The film is all set to hit theatres on October 28.
