Bengaluru: A shocking incident of a 10-month-old baby girl swallowing an LED bulb was reported in the city during Deepavali celebrations. The girl swallowed the LED bulb while her mother was arranging electric diyas outside their house.It was said the child’s mother tried to remove the LED bulb from her mouth but in vain. Later, the baby girl was rushed to Columbia Asia referral hospital at Yeshwantpur. The doctors at the hospital performed bronchoscopy to remove the contraption from the baby’s trachea. The girl was discharged from the hospital on Monday.
Meanwhile, more than 90 people suffered burn injuries during Deepavali celebrations at various parts of the city. A total of 45 fire cracker-related injuries were treated at Narayana Nethralaya, 14 fire cracker cases were reported at Minto Ophthalmic Hospital, while 18 at Sankara Eye Hospital, four at Nethradhama and one person were treated at Samprathi Eye Hospital.
