Bengaluru: The police have reportedly nabbed a suspect in connection to the killing of senior journalist Gauri Lankesh.
It is said that a police team went to Chikkamagalur to nab the suspect identified as Sandeep.
What is known about the suspect is that he used to react strongly against Gauri Lankesh’s comments on Facebook. Two months ago, Sandeep had lost his mobile phone and remained in touch with the man, who traced it in Bengaluru, it is gathered. Two weeks ago Sandeep visited Bengaluru and police have subjected him to further interrogation to extract more details.
Senior journalist Gauri Lankesh was shot dead at around 7.45 pm by unidentified men last night.
Gauri Lankesh’s body has been shifted to the Victoria Hospital in the city.
Meanwhile, police are examining 33 CCTVs cameras apart from the ones at Gauri ‘s residence.
Four persons have been identified as the accused in the case, and police have formed three teams to nab all the accused.
