Bengaluru: Amid the spike in Covid-19 cases, the Karnataka government has announced an extension of lockdown by 14 more days till June 7.
Experts have claimed that a lockdown at this stage would aid in controlling the outbreak. Before the lockdown, the state was seeing a rapid increase in coronavirus cases. Although the lockdown did not significantly reduce cases, it did result in a small decrease in the number of infections.
As of Friday, Karnataka reported 32218 new cases with total positive cases reaching being 23,67,742.
