Bengaluru: Lokayukta investigators in Karnataka conducted raids at 40 locations targeting 10 government officials implicated in a disproportionate assets case. The raids, excluding Bengaluru, spanned various districts, according to Lokayukta Inspector General of Police, Dr. A Subramanyeswara Rao.
Raids were initiated in Chamarajanagar, Mysuru, Hassan, Mandya, Tumakuru, Koppal, and Mangaluru. Notably, in Mandya, officials targeted a BESCOM executive engineer, who possesses a residence in Vidyaranyapura, Bengaluru, and a farmhouse in Nagamangala.
The father-in-law of this executive engineer, a prominent figure within the ruling Congress in Nagamangala, also faced scrutiny as investigators searched his residence.
In Hassan, the Lokayukta officials raided the premises of a food inspector, both at home and in the office. Additionally, they extended their search to the residence of the food inspector’s brother, who is involved in real estate.
Sources revealed that an executive engineer at the Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited also became a subject of investigation by the Lokayukta.
