Kolar: A vehicle travelling from Maharashtra’s Ahmednagar to Kolar District was stopped by the police and Rs. 2.50 Lakh in unaccounted cash was found at the Kadiguppa Highway Checkpost.
Seven people were travelling in a Mahindra Scorpio when the police stopped them at the Highway Checkpost ahead of the general elections and questioned the occupants of the vehicle.
When the Police got suspicious and checked, police found Rs 2.50 Lakh under the seat. The bag of money has been found. A case has been registered against seven accused for not providing documents about the money and not providing proper information during the interrogation. Police has taken the Scorpio into custody.
The accused have been identified as Sudam Pandit, Ganesh Godke, Satish Tambe, Bhagatrao Dobi, Sharad Irkar, Maruti Godke and Gyaneshwar Dobhi.
The accused hail from Ahmednagar District of Maharashtra and were on their way to Kolar District in Karnataka for business, but did not specify what business it was. It is doubtful why these accused kept the money under the seat.
