Bengaluru: More and more people’s representatives are being affected by Covid-19. The latest to get infected are Mahalakshmi layout MLA and food and civil supplies minister K Gopalaiah and Tumakuru Rural MLA C Gowrishankar.

Gopalaiah, who is also the Hassan district in-charge minister, rushed to Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru for treatment. According to his close associates, the minister is asymptomatic, however, he has been admitted to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

Gopalaiah didn’t attend Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting as he did not receive his test results at that time.

Tumakuru Rural MLA Gowrishankar also tested positive on Tuesday evening.

According to the JD(S) leader’s Facebook post, he took the Covid-19 test as he had a fever. His results came back positive and he is receiving treatment at home “as per the doctor’s suggestion”. “I request those who came in contact with me in the last 7 days to take the Covid test and take precautions immediately by quarantining,” he wrote.
