Bengaluru: In light of the prevailing prohibitory orders, Police Commissioner Kamal Pant said on Tuesday March 15 that there is no blanket ban on playing Holi in the City.

He said that police will not intervene in celebrations held within apartment complexes, malls, or other public places. Even playing of Holi on the roads will not be prohibited, but revellers should not form an unlawful assembly or engage in anti-social activities,” he added.

“Gathering of people in areas like open vegetable markets and queues near temples or hotels, are common and one cannot stop it. The same is applicable during Holi. However, when prohibitory orders are in place, crowds should not turn into an unlawful assembly under the pretext of playing Holi. No procession or group march is allowed during the festival due to a recent HC order,” he said.
