Ramanagara: Activists of pro-Kannada organisations staged a symbolic protest near the toll plaza in Hejjala, demanding that work on service roads on the Bengaluru – Mysuru Tenlane Highway be completed and then the toll be collected at toll plazas.
Office-bearers and Activists of various organisations led by Kasthuri Karnataka Janapara Vedike State President S. C. Nilesh Gowda and Kannada Activist V. Narasimhamurthy gathered near Hejjala (Kaniminake) Plaza in Bidadi Hobli and raised slogans against the BJP Government and Highway Development Authority officials.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Kasturi Karnataka Janapara Vedike State President S. C. Nilesh Gowda said that a decadal highway has been constructed to reduce the distance between Bengaluru and Mysuru and control the traffic problem for smooth flow of traffic. It is also the duty of the Authority to provide basic amenities to the passengers in the same way. But it is not right to inaugurate the Expressway without completing the service road and drainage work,” he said.
