Rajesh Suvarna (24), one of the accused in a dacoity and attempted murder case near Harekala Kadavainabali seven years ago, has been captured by a police team led by ACP Dhanya Nayak.
The incident, dated May 24, 2017, involved Ashraf and three others arriving in an auto and assaulting the owner of NF General Stores near Harekala Kadavu, Abdul Rahiman, with swords in an attempt to kill him. The gang accused Rahiman of providing information to the police against them and proceeded to loot Rs 50,000 in cash from the shop’s drawer.
A case was filed against Ashraf, Rajesh, and another individual at Konaje police station. While Ashraf and one other accused were apprehended by the police the following day, Rajesh had been absconding for seven years until his recent arrest by the Konaje police.
The accused now faces additional charges under the Arms Act.
