Accusations have surfaced against the Sub-Inspector (SI) of the reserve police force in Bengaluru, responsible for the security of Praveen Arun Chowgule, the prime suspect in the Nejar quadruple murder case. Reports suggest that the SI was allegedly intoxicated while on duty.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr. Arun provided details of the allegations, stating that the SI, tasked with presenting Chowgule in court in Udupi, was reportedly under the influence of alcohol. Witnesses claimed that the SI’s uniform was improperly worn, lacking a nameplate, and he openly admitted to consuming alcohol the previous night. His behavior during Chowgule’s court appearance was described as indecent, and he reportedly treated both media and the public roughly.
SP Dr. Arun assured that eyewitnesses have brought the matter to his attention, and a report for further action will be forwarded to the appropriate authorities.
