Mangaluru: ATS Armed Force police personnel held Jiya, a notorious gang member who is accused in the assassination of his own gang leader Khalia Rafique and Don Taslim at Mumbai Airport. He was wanted by both Kasargod and Mangaluru police.
Uppala gang leader Khalia Rafique was brutally murdered at Kotekaru in the City outskirts five years ago. A case in this regard was registered at Ullala Police Station. The police had arrested some accused but the main accused Jiya was absconding. Later, Taslim, a don of Uppala origin was murdered too. Moreover Jiya was the man wanted by the Manjeshwar Police in the murder case of Aziz, and also in the murder of Asif Bayikatte which took place in Kanyana at Kerala border.
Later, Jiya of Paivalike, Kasargod origin had fled to a foreign location, and was back to India only a few days ago. He was apprehended by the Kerala ATS Armed Force police at Mumbai Airport when he was about to flee to a foreign location again on Thursday November 11.
