The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has declared its candidate for the Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency. Gopal Muthoor, BSP district president, announced on Tuesday that Kanthappa Alangar, the party’s state secretary, will contest in the upcoming elections.
According to Muthoor, Alangar, who retired as an office superintendent at New Mangalore Port in 2020, has a rich history of serving society through various organizations and leading numerous people’s movements in Dakshina Kannada.
Muthoor highlighted Alangar’s significant role in extending socialist reformation movements in the district and his active participation in protests for social causes. He also emphasized Alangar’s comprehensive understanding of the social, economic, cultural, and political landscape of Dakshina Kannada.
